[CAD] Destruction Derby League: League Rules
Here are the rules for the [CAD] Destruction Derby League. Any changes / additional information will be in RED.
SECTION 1: CHAMPIONSHIP AND RACE INFORMATION
1a. Types Of Championship
There will be three types of championship in the [CAD] Destruction Derby League: a race championship, a points championship and an overall championship. The points championship and race championship will be decided after the fifth round, and the person with the most points after this will be declared the "unofficial" champion, while the person with the most race points will be declared the race champion. The "official" champion will be decided after the sixth round, as the final round is an elimination contest.
1b. Round Schedule
Here is the schedule for all of the rounds, except the final round, which will be explained nearer to the time:
Day before the round: Server will be put on TBO and the round's track and layout will be put on (for practice). The Round Information will also be posted up on the forum, which will contain the conditions, the number of laps per race, the layout, and the special areas to score the big points. An email will also be sent to all confirmed participants to remind them of the event, and will also contain the password for the round.
19:00 BST (18:00 GMT) on the day: Server will be passworded with the password that was sent in the emails. It will also be posted on the forum in case people have forgotten it or not read the email.
19:30 BST (18:30 GMT): Practice races will begin (this is to check for lag). Anyone who is in the server who is not in the league will be kicked. These races will last approximately 5 minutes each.
20:00 BST (19:00 GMT): RACE 1 ≈ 5 minutes
20:10 BST (19:10 GMT): RACE 2 ≈ 5 minutes
20:20 BST (19:20 GMT): RACE 3 ≈ 5 minutes
20:30 BST (19:30 GMT): RACE 4 ≈ 10 minutes
20:45 BST (19:45 GMT): End of the round (hopefully )
After the round: Results and replays will be posted in the appropriate section. Points will be posted up the day after the round.
SECTION 2: DRIVER BEHAVIOUR
2a. Penalty System
There will be a penalty system, in the form of points, for anyone who breaks the rules twice. Breaking the rules with red points 3 times over the course of the season, or multiple rules in one round, will result in that person being banned from the league. Here are the deductions:
Talking during the race: -10 points
Insulting other drivers: -60 points
Not following the rules: -150 points
Deliberate blocking of narrow areas: -200 points
An informal warning will be issued for the first rule break. No points will be deducted for this warning.
2b. Driver Names
Drivers must have their names in the format XX [NICKNAME], where XX is your race number, and [NICKNAME] is the nickname you registered. Any colour is allowed except black, as it can be unreadable at times.
2c. Round Procedures
Less than 1 hour before the round: If you have not received your PM containing your password, then please alert me via LFSForum, the server itself or MSN / Windows Live Messenger.
Practice races: If you are thought to have too much lag, then you will be only asked once to sort it out before the round properly starts. Failure to sort it out will mean that you will be asked to leave the round. If you do not leave the round, then you will be banned from that round.
During the actual races: No talking is allowed during the races. If you land on your roof or side, or have a wrecked car, DO NOT spectate, as this reduces people's chances of getting crash points. Pitting is disallowed as most people would go and pit after their cars were hit. If you are flung off the track, then you will still be placed, but with a DNF. A DNF will also be awarded to those who cannot move, but will still have a placing.
After the actual races: Please do not try to force a restart by pressing Shift R. Wait until the admin has saved the race replay and has all the results of everyone who finished. If you are found out to have started a force restart, then you will be banned from that round.
Flags: Ignore them. No seriously, DD racing does not use flags. So ignore all yellow / blue flags that you may get.
2d. Protests
If you feel that you need to protest against another racer's actions, then please use the form below and PM me on LFSForum.

3. POINTS SYSTEMS
3a. Race Points
Race points will only be given to the first ten finishers.
1st: 500 points
2nd: 450 points
3rd: 400 points
4th: 350 points
5th: 300 points
6th: 250 points
7th: 200 points
8th: 150 points
9th: 100 points
10th: 50 points
Fastest lap gets 25 points.
Slowest lap gets 10 points.
A clean lap, which is where you don't hit anything at all, will get you 50 points a lap.
3b. Crash Points
There are different types of crashes, and depending on the level of destruction and skill needed, they give different points. So a little nudge would get less than a 200mph shunt. Each type of crash will get a description so you can see what you can get. These extra points will be awarded after the race is over, and the replays have been watched.
Spins, Rolls and Loops (Vertical Rolls) = 25 points for every 90° travelled, up to a maximum of 200 points for 720°. This is to stop people getting stupidly high numbers of points for rolling loads and loads of times after being nudged by someone.
Barrier Slammer = 100 points. A Barrier Slammer is where you shove your opponent into the barriers sideways, or squeeze them into an oncoming barrier so they hit the barrier and wreck their car (probably)
Follow-in = 150 points. A follow-in is the same as a Barrier Slammer, only both cars are going in the same direction and one is behind the other.
Gut Wrencher = 200 points. A Gut Wrencher is where you hit the underside of an opponent after they've rolled. You need to hit them on the underside (black bit) to get these points.
Skull Crusher = 300 points. A Skull Crusher is where you land on the roof of an opponent after a jump. You need to land on the rear and/or roof to get these points.
Flatliner = 500 points. A Flatliner is when you destroy someone else's car and remove them from the race. A Flatliner's points will only be awarded if you are able to make your opponent "take the wrong route" or you hit them in such a way that their car cannot move (this does NOT include being roofed or put on your side).
Air Attack = 600 points. An Air Attack is a Flatliner, but your car is totally in mid-air when you do destroy the other car, i.e. no wheels on the ground whatsoever. The reverse version of this is highest scoring move in LFS DD, at 1200 points.
3c. Stunt Points
Stunt points work on the same basis as crash points except you don't have to hit your opponents to get them.
Spins, Rolls and Loops (Vertical Rolls) = 25 points for every 90° travelled, up to a maximum of 200 points for 720°. This is to stop people getting stupidly high numbers of points for rolling loads and loads of times after they've hit a ramp.
Individual jumps will not get points awarded due to their difficulty in calculating how far someone has jumped. However, the person who jumps the furthest will get 100 points. You must land the jump to get the points.
Up on two wheels = 50 points for every second covered.
Sliding on your side or roof = 50 points for every second covered.
Any of these crashes and stunts will get DOUBLE POINTS if done in reverse.
3d. Special Points
Each round's meeting information will give details about certain places on the track which will give you 1000 POINTS if you hit someone into this place in EXACTLY the way that it has been described. There will be at least one of these "Special Places" on each round (except the final round). There may also be "Special Places" for stunts, which will also give you 1000 POINTS if you do it right. These points can only be claimed once by only one person in each round.
If you feel that there needs to be another rule added, changed or removed, then please do not hesitate to contact me via PM.
